RIGGING FUNDAMENTALS

The Rigging Fundamentals Class consist of Training and Assessments.

Module 00106-04 - Basic Rigging

Learn basic inspection techniques, hitch configurations, and load-handling safety practices, as well as how to use American National Standards Institute hand signals.

Module 38101-05 - Rigging Equipment

Includes how to inspect and use common rigging hardware, slings, and tag lines and  how to select, inspect, use and maintain special rigging equipment, including block and tackle, chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks and tuggers.

Module 38102-05 - Rigging Practices

Covers communications, basic rigging safety precautions, lift planning and load and sling calculations.  It also covers load charts and load balancing. 

Students who take and successfully complete both the written and practical portions of the modules will receive credit in the NCCER database and will also receive a certificate from Merit Shop Training, Inc.

CLASS INCLUDES NCCER WRITTEN AND PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTS

This classroom training will be accepted by Dow Chemical (Freeport Site).
