The ABC Public Relations Committee provided a “break from the routine.” Fishing enthusiasts from all over Texas entered the Annual Inshore Fishing Tournament. The event proceeds will go to benefit the local community.
The tournament was held on June 5, 6 & 7, 2009 at KC’s On The Creek at Oyster Creek. The awards were given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Trout, Red Fish and Flounder. The first place winners were given plaques:

The Fishermen’s Jackpot raised $3,700 (includes an added cash bonus) from the 160 entries. There were 9-cash awards given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Trout, Red Fish & Flounder. Cash awards from the jackpot were 100% payback & were given: 1st place 50%, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 20%.

A portion of the fishing tournament and raffle ticket sales also raised funds for charity. Proceeds will go towards the year’s charity event collection. The ABC board of directors will announce the local charitable organizations, which ABC will contribute to from the 2009 fundraiser events. Details of funds and distributions will be reported in the local newspaper and ABC newsletter, “Coastline.”
