Established in 1989, the Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) began as a simple benchmarking tool for safety standards and has evolved into a leading safety management system. Designed for companies of all sizes and trades, STEP helps improve safety performance across the construction industry. Participating ABC member firms evaluate their safety programs using a detailed questionnaire covering 25 key elements. This process supports the development and continuous improvement of jobsite safety programs, with the ultimate goal of reducing incidents and creating a safer work environment.
